Dr Shanshan Cheng is an associate professor in Structural Engineering at the University of Plymouth in the UK. Her current research mainly focuses on the low carbon construction materials, particularly the application to marine structures. She has attracted over €2m research funding working with other research institutions in the last 10 years, resulted in > 30 peer-reviewed publications with h-index of 19.

Prof. Jaime Boris Irahola is a seasoned civil and structural engineer with over three decades of experience in infrastructure and construction management. He currently serves as a Senior Project Manager at HDR Inc. in Irvine, California, and is the CEO of The SPS Corporation, specializing in structural design and stormwater pipeline engineering services. During his tenure at the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Mr. Irahola held several pivotal roles, including Office Chief for District 12 Construction, where he managed 120 engineers and administrators overseeing 92 projects totaling $1 billion. His extensive experience encompasses managing complex highway and bridge projects, structural design, and construction oversight. In academia, he contributes as a part-time lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, teaching various civil engineering courses. He also serves on the board of the Cal Poly Alumni Association, supporting scholarship initiatives. Mr. Irahola holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California.

Dr. Shahria Alam is a Full Professor of Civil Engineering and the Tier 1 Principal’s Research Chair in Resilient & Green Infrastructure at The University of British Columbia (UBC)’s Okanagan campus. He is serving as the Director of the Green Construction Research & Training Center (GCRTC) at UBC. Dr. Alam is the Vice President (Technical Program) of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE). He was the past Chair of CSCE's Engineering Mechanics and Materials Division. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from Western University in 2008. His research interests include smart and recycled materials and their structural engineering applications. He has published 500 peer-reviewed articles in these areas. He has received many national and international awards, including four best paper awards and the Killam Faculty Research Prize 2024, and the EGBC Sustainability Award 2021.

Prof. Jamal Khatib is an Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Wolverhampton, UK, with over 35 years of academic and research experience. He has held positions at Aberdeen, South Wales, and Sheffield Hallam Universities and became a Professor in 2012. His research focuses on sustainable construction materials, including waste utilization, metakaolin, concrete durability, and self-compacting concrete. He has published 500+ journal and conference papers, with 14,000+ citations and H-indexes of 30 (ISI), 36 (Scopus), and 53 (Google Scholar). Recognized among the top 0.3% of researchers globally in building and construction (Stanford University, 2020–2024), he is also ranked among the top authors in cement (Microsoft Academic). Prof. Khatib has served as a reviewer for 300+ journals, a technical committee member for 100+ conferences, and an editorial board member for multiple academic journals. He has received research funding from the EU, British Council, and Royal Society and has strong research collaborations worldwide.

Endrit Tuzi is a highly experienced architect and academic from Albania, specializing in architecture, urban planning, and heritage conservation. A graduate of the Polytechnic University of Tirana with advanced studies from La Sapienza University of Rome and Polytechnic University of Valencia, he has led and co-authored numerous public and private projects across Albania, including schools, government buildings, and urban development plans. He currently serves as a lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Tirana and is pursuing doctoral studies in Architecture Technology.

Hector Martin is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) with a PhD in Construction Management and over 20 years of experience in civil and structural engineering design and construction. A former Technical Director at Morain & Martin Development LLC, he has led major public and private sector projects with expertise in business development, procurement, cost control, and stakeholder engagement. Dr. Martin is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Certified PMP, and an active member of ICE UK, ASCE, and the Board of Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago. His work integrates advanced project management with IT tools like MATLAB and Excel to drive performance and innovation.

Danial Mohammadzadeh S. is currently lecturer. He received degree in Civil Engineering in field of Geotechnical Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and has over ten years of experiences and teaching in Building Construction, Geotechnical Engineering, and Environmental Analyses projects. He has authored over sixty publications in archival journals and conference proceedings, eleven inventions, eleven research projects and four books which have been cited for over 1209 times and h-index 18 by different researchers around the world. All of the papers have been published to the best journals and conferences. He is a lecturer in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in Iran, Azad University of Mashhad, Technical and Vocational University of Khorasan Razavi Province (Montazei Technical University of Mashhad) in Iran, Eqbal Institute of Higher Education Lahoori and Sama University. Also, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Azad University of Mashhad, co-supervisore in the dissertations of a number of graduated students in Universities of Mashhad and an associate member of ASCE. In addition, he is a member of the Editorial Board four journals, Regular Reviewer of five journals, fifteen international conferences and speaker invitation in six international conferences (Canada, Rome, etc). He was mayor advisor in Mashhadd. He has received some award certificates for researching, patents and research projects. Furthermore, he is supreme consultant action of Khorasan Razavi Inventor Association and he is director of researches and Elite of Khorasan Construction Engineering Organization and head of Geotechnical unit of Khorasan Razavi Construction Engineering Organizations.

Prof. Carolina Piña Ramírez is a lecturer of the Department of Architectural Constructions and Control at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), and teaches Planning and Programming of Works, Management of the Building Process and Economic and Planning Management subjects. The research being developed is included in the area of Environment and Sustainable Construction, specifically within the line of research: Construction Waste Management and Demolition (RCD) for its use as new materials for construction. Over the past years, she has published several scientific articles and has participated in various conferences and research projects.

Dr. Kwame B.O. Amoah is an assistant professor in the department of civil and architectural engineering and construction management at the University of Cincinnati. He was an assistant professor at the University of Northern Iowa. His research is focused on project planning and scheduling; construction estimating/costing; value engineering and constructability; project delivery systems; building information modeling; and energy efficiency in buildings. Dr. Amoah holds a master’s degree in construction management and engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He earned an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is a certified Project Management Professional and LEED AP.

Providence Habumuremyi is a postdoctoral fellow at Fuzhou University, specializing in tunnel face stability and geotechnical engineering. He earned his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University and a B.Sc. from the University of Rwanda. With experience spanning both academia and industry, Providence has worked as a civil engineer and field inspector on various infrastructure projects in China and abroad. His research interests include tunnel stability, structural dynamics, and finite element analysis. He is also an active reviewer for peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Scurtu Ionut Cristian is affiliated with the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy and has an active research profile in marine engineering, control systems, and sustainable technologies. He holds a Web of Science ResearcherID (O-2089-2018) and an ORCiD (0000-0003-3105-6384). Between 2016 and 2024, he has published over 18 papers, with a Web of Science H-index of 3 and more than 60 citations. Dr. Cristian is also a dedicated peer reviewer for several leading journals, including the Journal of Coastal Research, Engineering Computations, and Aerospace. He frequently contributes to international conferences such as SEA-CONF and TECHNIUM.

Lamesgin Simegn Abeba is a Lecturer and Researcher in Structural Engineering at Madda Walabu University, Ethiopia, since 2018. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Gondar and an MSc in Structural Engineering from Bahir Dar University, where his research focused on structural optimization of extradosed cable-stayed bridges. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Structural Engineering. Lamesgin has supervised numerous undergraduate research projects and leads a departmental research group. His technical expertise includes structural analysis, bridge design, and the use of advanced software tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, MIDAS Civil, and CSi Bridge. He has presented at national and international conferences, including Eurostruct 2023, and has published several papers on structural optimization in reputed journals.
